Emerge Haps

Current Emerge Series

(UN)conformed: a journey through 1 Peter.

1 Peter 1:13-16

To be conformed to something is to act in harmony with that “thing.”  Our lives of loving Jesus call us to live radically different than the world around us.  THIS IS NOT EASY.  Join us in the journey of walking through the book of 1 Peter as we are encouraged to see the world through the eyes of Jesus and be (UN)conformed to the passions of this world while yet living immersed in this world.  This could be one of our most important journeys yet.

2011-2012 Mosaic Youth Events

EMERGE: We will have 5 Emerge wide events this school year that will focus on connecting students with students and leaders on a deeper level.  Also we are encouraging each huddle group to get together once a month with their huddle group outside of Emerge.  We are only publishing here our Emerge wide events.  We will be communicating huddle group hang-outs through other venues.  Check out our Youth Staff page for huddle group leaders and their email addresses.

1.  Lloyd Ctr Broomball: (Date: Sat, October 22nd – 8-11:30pm) What’s the mixture of hockey, soccer, and polo on steroids?  Yeah, it’s broomball.  Mosaic Youth rented out Lloyd Center’s Ice Rink for an hour and a half for this event.  Meet at Mosaic at 8pm while we get crazy for 2 hour before heading over to Lloyd Center.  Parent’s pick up your students at 11:30pm at the Ice Rink.

COST: $20 covers everything!

2.  Christmas Party: (Date: Wed, December 14th – 7-9pm) Our Christmas Party will be during the last Emerge of the year.  Like previous years we will focus our time on eating, competitions, prizes, and serving those less fortunate than us.

COST:  There is no cost for this event.  We have each student bring a food item, dress up for a costume contest, and bring items for someone less fortunate (this will be specified closer to December)

3.  Winter Breakaway: (Date: January 13-15)

COST:    For Emerge students:  (by Dec 18th) $130    (by Jan 8th) $145     (by Jan 13th) $155

For Non-Emerge Students: (by Dec 18th) $100    (by Jan 8th) $115     (by Jan 13th) $125

What is Winter Breakaway?

Winter Breakaway is a 2 night weekend retreat designed to getaway from our normal lives to build friendships, focus on Jesus, and have the time of our lives–Mosaic Youth style. Throughout the weekend we will have crazy games, team building activities, worship and sessions to focus on Jesus. You will also get the opportunity to go to and amazing skiing area–Ski Bowl. This may include skiing or boarding, depending on what package you choose. But that’s not your cup of tea the rest of us will  be headed to an amazing hill for sledding. This was the highlight of last year’s Breakaway.

4.  Spring Lock-in: (Date: March 2nd)

5.  30 Hour Famine: (Date: April 27-28th)

5. Summer Youth Quake: (projected date: July 16th-20th) Youth Quake (Enter) is a middle school service camp that our district office organizes each summer.  We join with about 175 other middle school students from around the northwest at George Fox University for a week long service camp that focuses on teaching missions.  Youth Quake is a big part of Mosaic Youth’s long term mission plan.  It’s our hope that our students will participate in Youth Quake for 3 years to learn about missions before they go on a short-term missions project in High School.
