High School Mission Trip INFO

(this was the email I sent to the High School Mission team May 6, 2014)

Hey Everyone,

You are receiving this email because you have filled out an application for our High School Mission Trip. This summer we will be going through a trusted organization called Youth Dynamics (YD). We will spend three days camping and going white water rafting, rock climbing, and headed to a ropes course. After these days of learning to trust one another we will spend another 3-4 days working with Bridgetown Ministries (still through Youth Dynamics) and gaining a deeper perspective of the needs in our own back yard.

This trip is intentional in our mission plan. We want all our students to know that there are great needs across the world in places like Nicaragua and Haiti. We also we want to lead our students in knowing that there are great needs in our own back yard. This year is our attempt at growing deeper in trust as a team and gaining a different perspective in missions.

DUE: I need to know by Saturday, May 10th if you are committing to this trip. Please email me back to confirm this either way.

Timeline:

  • When you commit to this team you will be committing to a non-refundable $100 deposit will be Due Sunday, May 18th.
  • A fundraiser will be planned for mid-June, which will offset the cost of the next deposit of $250. This deposit will be due Sunday, June 22nd.
  • Again, depending on the earlier fundraiser, the last deposit of $150 will be due Sunday, July 20th.
  • TRIP: July 28 – August 2nd

We need your help!

Hi Parents,

For the past four years Winter Breakaway has impacted students by helping them build deeper community and grow in their knowledge of Jesus.  This year we are praying that students and their friends will be impacted in the same way.

Students will be staying in host homes throughout Portland, with two adult leaders at each home. Throughout the weekend, they will participate in large group activities as well as small group discussions.

In order to keep the cost of this event low, we are looking for eight parents who would be willing to make and deliver a meal for each of the host homes on Saturday, February 15. If you’d like to contribute a meal large enough to feed 15 people, please reply to this email with whether you would like to provide breakfast (delivered by 7am) or lunch (delivered by 11:30am).

DYC: February 14th – 17th | High School: District Youth Conference

This is the high school youth conference that we attend every year.  Hundreds of high school students from around the Pacific Northwest will get together at the Red Lion here in Portland and we get to join them in worship, learning from God’s word, and competitions.  We will be staying at the Red Lion all weekend.  More details can be found here.

  • Early Bird $50 Deposit due on/before: January 14th ($195 total if registered EB)
  • Advanced Rate $50 Deposit due on/before: January 27th ($220 total if registered AR)
  • Regular Rate w/ $50 Deposit due after: January 27th ($245 total if registered RR)

*A DYC medical release form needs to be filled out.  We will have them at our youth gathering each week.

 

 

Christmas Shopping Childcare Fundraiser

Mosaic Youth | Christmas Shopping Childcare Fundraiser

Saturday, December 14th 5pm – 9pm @ Mosaic’s Lower Level

Do you need someone to watch your kids while you go Christmas Shopping or do you just need a night out?  Drop your kids off at Mosaic for a game, movie and craft filled night.  Mosaic Youth will be watching, entertaining, and feeding your kids on Saturday December 14th, from 5pm-9pm.  In exchange you will be helping support our youth attend events.

All you have to do is bring your kids and let us play with them for a mere $10 per kid donation.  You may drop off and pick up your children in the lower level of Mosaic anytime during these hours on December 14th.
